We were blessed in 2006 with the arrival from Canterbury Diocese of our curate, Rev Simon Richardson. Further blessings came our way with the news that he was to be our new rector. We may pray that, as well as being a shepherd to lead us in safe ways, he may be revealed to be as gifted and inspired as a conductor of a fine orchestra; leading us, encouraging us and drawing on the potential of each of us to be instruments in the work of the Church. We are encouraged by his recognition of this place as having a wonderful heritage as a place of worship in Ireland and also of his regard for the foundation laid by his predecessors and all the faithful who have made this church their spiritual home; being a rich inheritance of fidelity to the Gospel and of identity as part of the Church of Ireland and the world-wide Anglican Communion. May we, as ringers, be inspired to use the bells we have been gifted with by past faithful to be instruments for proclaiming the glory of God and calling the people around us to worship with us or wherever they are; at whichever place to be mindful of the calling made to each and every one of them.
